St Giles Quarter
The area around St Giles Church that runs down to All Saints has become known as St Giles quarter. I dont think this is an official moniker but it does give the area some collective identity. In the centre of Northampton alongside the usual drab high st names we have a whole heap of small indie shops and businesses. A great number of them are situated in and around st Giles st, in Guildhall rd, Dychurch lane, Derngate, Fish st.
Other independent businesses in St Giles quarter:
Dychurch Lifestyle. A clothing & lifestyle store in St Giles st run by our friend Steve
Barbarella hair are our new neighbours. They do hair! So do Outcast & finn & co.
The Food Hall is just down the road. Run by Alastair, they are an established deli. Tell him we sent you!!
Abraxas cookshop is the best kitchen shop ever.
The Seafood cafe opened at the same time as us, Tim and his staff do very good seafood indeed.
The Mailcoach. A great pub run by our friends Sue & Lionel. Next to the theatre on Derngate.
The Wig & Pen is a proper pub on the site of the legendary Black Lion. Top quality real beers and a great atmosphere. Check it out in the summer, live bands in the garden and the cider festival is not to be missed.
Montague Jeffery is a quality gents clothing shop that has been established over 100 years.
Cobbys and Jack Haddon two great florists just along the road from us
27 Red make fresh sarnies which are better than pre-pack ones!!
